Let's think of them as pilgrims suddenly discovering the transcending power of love.
I like to think of the following photo as an illustration of how a cathedral might have looked to someone, centuries ago, looking upward before spectacles were available to the common pilgrim. We always hear that windows were the 'bible of the poor', but could they even see the windows?
Not everybody in the vicinity of St Suplice is consumed by the building's beauty.
