I don't understand how anyone could destroy a thing of such beauty for any purpose whatsoever. In any case, your photos do justice to the remains. I looked, but unfortunately didn't find, a rendering of the abbey when it was whole.

Right off the bat A said the first shot reminded her of a Laocoon, way over my head, but it appears some of his works have characters with their mouths open in agony perhaps. Other than that, choosing B & W for the majority of the shots brought a different focus than I think I would have experienced were they in color. That was a splendid choice. This photography is special. It was a nice touch to round out the series with color photos. That was what made me go back, look at the B & Ws and imagine them in color. This was fun!

Very nice series, Evan. My favorite shot was the one of the deserted bridge, but that would be me wouldn't it? You've inspired me to take some panoramic shots with my new camera. I'll have to use a different tripod (no pan head) but I'll figure something out. I think I'll get steadier shots to work with using the remote shutter release. Hope to show you something soon.

Evan, an interesting, tactile series of color, patina, texture, and angles. I can almost feel the weight of the "gear chain." I do some metalworking (jewelry) and understand the attraction of the material.
