Fox gloves in June in Vancouver

The fox gloves are starting to come into their own.  They often bring humming birds to our garden, but I am far too slow to photograph them.  (These photos were taken with my Zeiss 50mm f/2.0 macro.)

Wiegela in early June

I noticed this bush a bit late this spring, by the time most of the blossoms were turning brown at the edges, but I was nevertheless intrigued with the shooting challenges, especially in the breezes.

Lupins in early June

Now that I am finally strong enough to carry the tripod, flower macro photography is once again possible.  Our lupins have varying shades of purple, possibly due to type or to pollination in previous years.

Poppies in Vancouver, June 1st

The cool spring has not been very encouraging to our poppies this year, but I took time to photograph a few between showers.
