Pacific Spirit Regional Park, Vancouver

As I slowly regain strength, I find I can photograph things close at hand.  These photos show the small part of the Pacific Spirit Regional Park which is just across the road, perhaps a mere 60 steps from our front door.  This is the day we had been scheduled to land in Paris for our annual five-week visit.  Cancer has a way of changing such plans.  For now, the forest is my cathedral.

Fallen Saskatoon Petals

Decades ago, our neighbours planted a Saskatoon tree so that I can see it from my study windows.  It is wonderful year around, but this is the first time I have paid attention to how beautiful its fallen petals can be.  By now, just a few days later, most are gone.

Flowers in Vancouver May 2nd

A true friend dropped by to wish me speedy recovery and to lend me his new Zeiss 50mm f/1.4 lens.  Couldn't wait, but I discovered getting up after a shot hurts.  I must ask Maree and Janice to plant taller flowers.
