Our Vancouver 2011 spring is cooler and later than usual, with plants being possibly three or four weeks behind schedule. One afternoon was sunny, however, letting me try out the 180mm macro (fresh from Craig's List). Getting down to ground level, seems to be the main challenge (and getting back up).
Most of the crocuses are allowed to spread naturally, and spread they do. They also tend to naturalize.
However, Janice also buys new bulbs from time to time. This is a more fancy variety.
She also purchased some new yellow crocus bulbs, which are particularly brilliant in the sun shine.
Friends gave us some lovely cut flowers, reminding me that tulip season is coming, possibly in about five weeks.
