Canada Day Block Party 2014, Vancouver

July 1st is Canada Day--from sea to sea to sea.  Each year, our block gathers for freshly barbecued salmon, homemade salads and desserts, the obligatory egg toss competition (until we run out of eggs), dog races (this year's winner was literally dragged the entire way--the youngsters were determined their pet was best; no discernible paw burns), and the bike races.  The evening ended with conversation and the children 'showing the colours' as they rode bikes, flags in hand, to celebrate the day.
