April flowers
The weather keeps promising spring and then withdraws into colder nights. But this encourages the season to be more languorous, possibly requiring a full two months to run through Vancouver's repertoire of flowers.

Fallen Saskatoon Petals
Decades ago, our neighbours planted a Saskatoon tree so that I can see it from my study windows. It is wonderful year around, but this is the first time I have paid attention to how beautiful its fallen petals can be. By now, just a few days later, most are gone.

Saskatoon tree blossoms
Peter and Maree kindly planted a Saskatoon tree on their property so that it would be easily visible from my front study. I have enjoyed watching it develop this April. The sunshine of the last four chilly days finally brought out the flowers.
